
Students in the CISCO/Information Technology Trade learn such things as proficiency in Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office, business English and math, alpha and numeric key padding, and basic office procedures.
- Students in the CISCO/Information Technology Trade may also complete the first two modules of the CISCO Program, towards eventual full CISCO Certification. Individual module certification is transferable to any other academy.
Students in the CISCO/Information Technology Trade will also spend time at a work-based learning site—“hands-on training” is a great way to learn!
HP Fundamentals of IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software
HP IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Company, presents an in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems. Students learn the functionality of hardware and software components as well as suggested best practices in maintenance, and safety issues. Through hands on activities and labs, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. In addition, an introduction to networking is included. This course helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ certification. CCNA Courses 1 through 4 of the Academy program, it provide students with a basic foundation in networking. Students learn how to configure 2600 series routers and 2950 catalyst switches with basic routing configurations through the IOS and configuration files through hands on activities and labs. Students who successfully complete this portion of the program are eligible to earn Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA™) certification. We are an Authorized Pearson Vue Testing Center. - Students in the CISCO/Information Technology Trade can get MOUS certified.
