Students in the Facilities Maintenance Trade will also spend time doing work-based learning—“hands-on training” is a great way to learn!

  • Starting wages for graduates of the Facilities Maintenance Trade average from $8.50-13.00/hour, often with full benefits, depending where students relocate.
  • Skilled Facilities Maintenance technicians are in high demand across the country.
  • Students graduating in the Facilities Maintenance Trade will leave with the necessary tools for their vocation.
  • Students completing at the “Helper” level will be given $100 worth of tools; students completing at the “Technician” level will receive $200 worth of tools—free!!!
  • While not a pre-apprentice program for a specific union trade through Columbia Basin Job Corps, completion of this trade opens doors to union membership in many specialty areas, if desired, of its graduates.
  • Graduating students in the Facilities Maintenance Trade can work in apartment and building maintenance, light to heavy industrial maintenance, machine and facility maintenance (i.e. hospitals, schools, office buildings), even agriculture!
