Students in the Culinary Arts Trade learn such things as proper safety and sanitation techniques, how to modify recipes, and how to safely and properly use equipment—large and small—related to the Culinary Arts Trade. They also learn how to prepare a wide variety of dishes: vegetables, fruit, breakfast items, salads and dressings, sandwiches, convenience foods, pastas and legumes, meat, poultry, seafood, sauces, and appetizers. Students in the Culinary Arts Trade will learn both food service and culinary arts work skills.
 
Students in the Culinary Arts Trade will also spend time doing work-based learning—“hands-on training” is a great way to learn!
 
Job Information
  • Students in the Culinary Arts Trade can earn a certification in culinary arts.
  • Students test for and receive a Grant County Health District Food Handlers License.
  • Students test for and receive a Serve Safe Certification.
  • Starting wages for graduates of the Culinary Arts Trade average from $8-10/hour depending where students relocate.
  • Graduating students in the Culinary Arts Trade will receive a knife set and case, worth approximately $125.
