They also learn the math computations needed to be successful in the Carpentry Trade. Students in the Carpentry Trade will also spend much of their time on work-based learning projects throughout the Columbia Basin —“hands-on training” is a great way to learn!

  • A graduating student will have all the skills necessary to compete as a First Period Apprentice.
  • Graduating students also receive approximately $400 worth of hand tools and toolbox to get them started in their trade.
  • Starting wages for First Period Apprentices range from $12-$17/hour, depending where students relocate.
  • Upon completion of the trade at Columbia Basin Job Corps, students have direct entry into the Carpenter’s Union Apprenticeship Program. Direct entry means that students “go to the head of the line” when it comes to getting into a union apprenticeship!
